A word from our directors

Every year our team, volunteers and partners come together to make free, culturally safe services possible for women, youth and families. The photos throughout this site are from our own programs and community events.

  1. 2015

    ISWA founded

    Established as a project of the Bankstown Community Resource Group to support local women and families.

  2. 2018

    Programs expand

    Launched youth, children's and job-readiness streams in response to community need.

  3. 2021

    DSS funding secured

    Federal Department of Social Services funding enables sustained crisis and family-violence support.

  4. 2024

    Growing footprint

    Active across four LGAs with seven recurring programs and an expanding volunteer base.

  5. Today

    Looking ahead

    Deepening partnerships, broadening reach, keeping every service free.
